08th October 2018 Hearts reserves v Kilmarnock reserves 3-2
Did not know this game was until 13.00 but caught a bus out to Oriam to arrive at 13.45 in time for kickoff. it had been a frustrating weekend as I had wanted to go to see Musselburgh v Penicuik but traffic was horrendous due to bikers heading to indyref march so ended going home as would not have arrived till 15 minutes into the game. On Sunday I did not have enough points to go to Rangers v Hearts so ended up watching Liverpool v Manchester City on Sky. A pretty poor advert for the top of the Premier League in my opinion. One improvement at the Oriam is they have now put plastic sheets behind the goals so posts are now clear to spectators.
The Jambos were first to threaten, with Aidan Keena hitting a half-volley over the bar before Lewis Moore’s angled snapshot was saved by Devlin Mackay. It was all Hearts inside the first half hour, with Wighton heading wide from Bartlomiej Gajda’s cross. However Kilmarnock took the lead when Oliver MacDonald shot past Silva after a pass from Greg Kiltie. Hearts equalised just before half time when a Danny Amankwaa pass found Harry Cochrane fifteen yards out who found the top corner of the net with a composed finish.
Kilmarnock lost Ross Millen to a red card after a challenge on Cameron Logan. However minutes afterwards Ian Wilson on the overlap shot the visitors into the lead. With nine minutes remaining, Hearts got back on level terms. Substitute Euan Henderson’s corner was knocked into the six-yard box by a blue shirt and fellow substitute Dario Zanatta stabbed the ball into the back of the net.Two minutes later it was 3-2. Zanatta drove down the left to send a ball into the bbox for Logan, and with the outside of his right boot he sent the ball over the head of Mackay aand into the net with, I thought a deflection, of a Kilmarnock defender.
Left ground and caught a 35 bus home and was in house by 16.30.

MATCH REPORT
Hearts made it two wins from two in the Reserve League Cup with a 3-2 victory over Kilmarnock this afternoon.
Andy Kirk’s side twice came from behind to take all three points, with the visitors reduced to ten men in the second half.
The Jambos were first to threaten, with Aidan Keena hitting a half-volley over the bar before Lewis Moore’s angled snapshot was saved by Devlin Mackay, who then made a smart block from Craig Wighton’s rebound.
Mackay again denied Moore after he was threaded through by Wighton, and moments later the winger dragged an effort wide after he was found by Cammy Logan’s pinpoint cross.
It was all Hearts inside the first half hour, with Wighton flashing a header wide from Bartlomiej Gajda’s cross, before Moore showed great tenacity to win possession and curl a shot on goal which was pushed away by Mackay.
At the other end, Kevin Silva denied Oliver McDonald but McDonald got the upper hand in the 36th minute, slotting low into the bottom corner after being teed up by Greg Kiltie.
Three minutes before half time it was 1-1. Danny Amankwaa carried the ball into the box before finding Cochrane in space, and he floated a first-time shot straight into the top corner, giving Mackay no chance.
Nine minutes into the second-half a Keena volley stung the palms of Mackay, before Silva saved a Kiltie effort.
Keena then slipped Moore through but his shot was saved by the legs of Mackay.
Kilmarnock were reduced to ten men when Ross Millen was given a straight red for an over-the-ball lunge on Logan which left the Hearts man crumpled on the deck.
The visitors then took the lead. Jack Byrne’s clever through ball found Ian Wilson on the overlap and he stabbed beyond Silva.
Substitute Dario Zanatta went close to restoring parity but he fired straight at Mackay after getting on the end of Wighton’s reverse pass.
With nine minutes remaining, Hearts got back on level terms. Substitute Euan Henderson’s corner was knocked into the six-yard box by a blue shirt and Zanatta was there to stab the ball into the back of the net.
Two minutes later it was 3-2. Zanatta tore down the left to send a ball into the box for Logan, and with the outside of his right boot he sent the ball over the head of Mackay and into the net.
The win means Hearts have won their opening two Reserve League Cup Group matches, after last month beating city rivals Hibs.
