4th August 2018 Hamilton Academicals v Hearts 1-4

Went to my first Hearts away game of the season today. Caught train at 12.15 to Glasgow then onto Hamilton via Glasgow Central. Only problem was train was full of Celtic fans although thankfully they got off before me. Arrived at Hamilton West around 14.10 and short walk to the ground. Hearts had an unchanged team from last Sunday. Kyle Lafferty was on bench along with Liam Smith who has been told he can move on if he finds another team.

Hearts did not start well and when Northern Ireland centre-half Hughes tried to shepherd the ball back to goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal he misjudged the ball and Hamilton centre forward Miller nipped in to score. Hearts hit back three minutes later after Christophe Berra had a header turned over the crossbar by Gary Woods, Steven Naismith set up Peter Haring to grab his third goal of the season with a fine header . The score remained tied at halftime.
Shortly into the second half Naismith was fouled in the box when he looked likely to score. 'Naisy' took the penalty himself and fired past Woods in the Accies goal to put Hearts ahead. The third goal came shortly after when Naismith knocked the ball back to Haring around fifteen yards from goal,. The midfielder then hit a composed finish into the corner of the net for a 3-1 Hearts lead.
Hamilton's Dougie Imrie was not popular with the Hearts fans and to be honest he is a sly dirty player. His biggest cheer of the day came when he was substituted. Steven McLean who I thought was Hearts star performer as he linked up play, dictated patterns and helped set the tempo and his play reaped dividends as he also got the side’s fourth and final goal, in the 62nd minute with an angled drive across the keeper. Hearts continued to dictate the play and substitute Jake Mulraney should have scored a fifth when he was thorough with just the keeper to beat but dragged his shot wide.

I walked back to Hamilton West station and got a train back to Glasgow Central. Yet again Celtic fans  got on train at Bridgeton. Can anyone tell me how female Celtic fans are as ugly as sin? Next train from Central to Edinburgh was at 18.05 so walked to Queen Street and caught 17.45 back to Haymarket and home by 18.45.
