Scottish Cup second round today and with playing at Ibrox I was able to go to a match. There were a number of local games but I decided to head to Christie/Gilles Park to watch Lowland League Civil Service Strollers(CSS) against League 2 Stranraer. I left home just after 13.30 and walked to Tollcross where I caught a 27 to the ground. I arrived at Craigroyston school around 14.25 and walked down Marine Drive to the ground entrance near World of Football. I walked through the CSS bar, without stopping and headed to the ground entrance. I showed my electronic Fanbase ticket for entry and bought two programmes (one for Jim who was at the Jeanfield Swifts tie) for £6 and entered the ground. I met Gwen and Andy outside the snack ar where we had a chat before moving round to the fence on the far side of the ground to watch the match. We managed to take up a position on the concreted area rather than the grass around the rest of the ground which avoided sinking into the muddy grass.  CSS ma

First match at Tynecastle for a few weeks having missed the Edinburgh Derby through illness. With a 14.15 kickoff for Sky TV coverage it was a bit of a rush after a late lunch to leave home. I left at around 13.35 to walk to Tynecastle and arrived around 13.50. I scannned my season ticket for entry and headed for my seat in the Main Stand. Celtic were unhappy about the ticket allocation for their own fans as they had only 576 tickets available. Given the behaviour of Celtic fans at previous matches I still thought that was too many. When the teams came out they displayed Give Racism the Red Card. The stadium announcer said both clubs were against racism, sectarianism and homophobia. Obviously the Celtic fans were deaf as they were displaying Palestinian flags and signing their usual sectarian songs. I just don’t understand why police and stewards not take any action given the way Hearts fans get treated in Glasgow.  Hearts made one change from the side that drew 2-2 against Hibs. Ste

First Match for a few weeks after the international break and a bout of illness. The weather has been awful over the past few days and with heavy rain this morning Ibwas considering staying at home but the rain stopped by lunchtime and I decided to head to Ainslie Park to watch Spartans v Dumbarton in the SPFL. I left home around 13.35 and walked to Lauriston to catch a 27 to Ainslie Park.at Hanoverian Street five guys got on who turned out to be Dumbarton fans. They were not sure how to get to the ground when I was chatting so I told them I was going to the match and to follow me to the ground. On arrival at Ainslie park I got in for £5. The usual admission price for concessions is £10 but they had a half price admission today for season ticket holders at Hearts, Hibs, Edinburgh  Cory and Cuvil Service Strollers so I saved £5. I bought a £3 programme on entry and took up a stance on the perimeter fence at the cafe end of the ground. I had been texting Jim this morning and said I would
