A trip to Chistie Gillies Park tonight. I left how at 18.15 t was to Tollcross and catch a bus to Marine Drive. I had voice of a 16 or a 27 but took the 16 as it came first. It was probably a bad choice as the bus headed down Leith Walk then along Commercial Street ro the Marine Drive stop. I got off and walked down to the ground arriving around 19.40. I had my Fanbase ticket scanned and bout a £1 programme on entry. I had a wander round the ground and met Jim on the fence on the left hand side of the ground.  CSS, under manger Gary Jardine, finished eighth in last seasonsLowland League. They could be said to be punching above their weight but Jardine seems to have the knack of producing good teams if not playing the most attractive football. They have some good experienced players like Conrad Balatoni and Ross Guthrie with a number of younger players to do the running. Tonight’s side included a number of trialists on the bench bit I think this included players from their U20 side who

First match for me of season 2023/24, a pre-season friendly between Lowland League Linlithgow and Championship side Raith and only twenty days after my final match of 2022/23 With the match kicking off at 14.30. I caught a train at Haymarket at 13.22 and arrived in Linlithgow around 13.35 and walked to Linlithgows ground at Prestonfield. Walking to the ground normally takes around fifteen minutes but I turned down the wrong side street and had to get back to the main road before arriving at the ground around 14.00 to watch the players warming up from behind the goal after paying my £5 admission charge. As usual at Linlithgow no match programmes were available. I stood behind the goals updating my Footbology app and also posting in Facebook. I then walked to the covered enclosure opposite the main stand where I met met Jim. We took a sea on the wall just outside the covered area to watch the macH. We also had a chat about various football issues including Scotlands victory over a Geor

Well this is it my last match of season 2022/2023. The East of Scotland League Cup final between Bo’ness Athletic and Dunipace being played at Meggetland. After an early lunch I left home around 13.15 for the short walk along the canal to Meggetland. I arrived around 13.40 and paid my £5 entry fee and also bought a programme, produced by Jamie McQueen, for £2. I walked round to the open terracing where ai met Jim and be were also joined by Alex, Jamie and Jah. The weather was really warm as we took a seat on the concrete steps opposite the shaded main stand. A number of fans had gone to the Canalside bistro and were standing on the outside terrace knocking back pints of lager without actually entering the ground.  The match promised to be an interesting contest. Bo’ness has won at a canter in the C Duvision  with thirty-six wins, two draws and won defeat. The main strength in the side is the attacking player with Tueu Daramila having scored eighty-one goals, Dylan Paterson forty-six

Final SPFL match of the season to decide fourth/fifth place and who will have the easier route in European football next season. However if Inverness beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup final next week the fifth placed finisher will not qualify for European football next season. Today was yet another early kickoff at 12.30 due to the Harry Styles concert at Murrayfield later today. To make things worse Hearts could not show the match on PFV as Sky were showing Celtic v Aberdeen which kicked off at the same time. I had a couple of bacon rolls for lunch and left for Tynecastle around 11.45 arriving after a leisurely stroll at 12.15. I scanned my season ticket for entry and headed for my seat in the main stand to watch the final stages of the warm-ups.  Steven Naismith made two changes from the side that drew 2-2 against Rangers at Ibrox during the week. Alex Cochrane and Barrie Mckay returned in place of Alan Forrest and Toby Sibbick. The return of Cochrane allowed Kye Rowles to return to h
